Danai Gurira, known for her roles as Okoye in Black Panther and Michonne in The Walking Dead, is in early talks to star in Godzilla vs. Kong.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, details of the character Gurira will potentially play are being kept secret, though it’s clear it will be a leading role. Julian Dennison, known for his role as Russell Collins (aka Firefist) in Deadpool 2 is also set for a role in the upcoming monster film.
Godzilla vs. Kong follows Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island and next year’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters as part of Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment’s MonsterVerse crossover series.
Gurira is also set to star in, write and produce a new miniseries based on Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel Americanah alongside Black Panther co-star Lupita Nyong’o.
